CANDY: Angel of the Month

CANDY: Angel of the Month

CoziKat's Angel of the Month features one of our many rescues to show that each purchase helps countless streeties in need.

This month, we have CANDY.

Candy was a tortoise shell cat who was born under a small shop near my building, along with her two tiny siblings. Since the beginning, Candy was always the shy one. While her boisterous brothers would play and seek out people, she preferred to stay hidden, cautious, and quiet. Feeding and caring for them was never easy, as the surrounding shopkeepers disapproved and considered them a  "nuisance."

One day on my feeding round, I couldn't find them. Later, I found out that someone had picked them up, and I was panicking. I didn’t know who took them, where they were and most importantly, if they were safe. Desperate, I gave my number to one of the shopkeepers, hoping they would come back. And somehow, a miracle happened — that person brought them back. The shopkeeper called me, and they were safe again.

I posted Candy’s adoption appeal for months everywhere, but was met with silence. It seemed like no one wanted a tortie, let alone a shy one. In addition, I worried that Candy wouldn’t thrive without her brother. But paired adoptions are rare — most families want just one kitten.

Finally, the day came when a kind family in Pune wanted both Candy and her brother. They agreed to take in this shy girl and promised to be patient.

Candy went to her forever family with her brother in June 2025. She has grown into a confident and affectionate girl, who adores cuddles, melts under gentle scratches and is living her best life with her brother, Coffee.

The scratcher sales help cover her medical, feeding, and transport charges to Pune...

So thank you for your purchase, on behalf of Candy, Candy's beautiful family for adopting her, and the rest of the kittus from CoziKat's feline family.
