GABRU: Angel of the Month

CoziKat's Angel of the Month features one of our many rescues to show that each purchase helps countless streeties in need.

This month, we have GABRU.

Gabru is a street cat who lived outside my building, and I fed him occasionally. One day, I spotted him with a very severe injury on his front leg. A part of his bone and flesh was sticking out, and he was severely limping. I tried to trap him for a few days, but owing to the pain, he hid.

Finally, with the help of kind passerbys, I was able to trap him and take him to the vet. He was immediately put on painkillers, antibiotics, and treatment to heal his leg injury. For two weeks, he stayed in paid foster care as his injury continued to heal. In foster care, his true personality emerged. He was the sweetest and most gentle cat, and the foster parent fell in love with him. Gabru was cooperative, and owing to the consistent medical treatment, he healed and was released within 2 weeks. 

Upon release, he settled into my building, with my other community cats, and quickly became my shadow. Animals have an unspoken way of communicating their thanks, and Gabru showed it every single day.

Today, Gabru's leg has completely healed, and he is back to running around and his playful self.
